Watershed Wednesday: IAWP Busy Beavers

Happy #WatershedWednesday! This week’s focus is on the IAWP Busy Beaver volunteer program. The Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve (IAWP) Busy Beavers Volunteer Team is a collaboration between the Gallatin Watershed Council and the Sacajawea Audubon Society (SAS).

The IAWP Busy Beavers program provides community members an opportunity to get out and take care of our local rivers, wetlands and trails, meet other community members, and receive free educational workshops. No prior experience is necessary to be a volunteer, and all ages are welcome.  Learn more and find out about the different ways you can participate!

The calendar is beginning to fill up with a variety of opportunities for community members including trainings, restoration events, educational workshops and more. Volunteer applications for 2022 are open, join us!

The 2022 IAWP Busy Beavers Educational Workshop Series will be kicking off on March 30th! A variety of guest speakers will be presenting on conservation-related topics relevant to the Gallatin Watershed. Check out this year’s topics and speakers, and stay tuned as we add more throughout the season.

There will be a number of opportunities for volunteers to get their hands dirty this summer - IAWP Busy Beavers can get involved in tree plantings, watershed cleanups, invasive weed pulls, groundwater monitoring, and more. Make sure to stay up to date with the IAWP Busy Beavers calendar, or fill out an application to get on the email list!
