Gallatin River Cleanup a Success!

This past weekend, the Gallatin Watershed Council and the Gallatin River Task Force teamed up to host the second annual collaborative Gallatin River Clean Up! Throughout the weekend, teams picked up trash all the way from the headwaters to the valley.

GWC organized the clean up for the Lower Gallatin Watershed. We had over 110 community members participate in the clean up, cleaned up 13 sites in the greater Bozeman area and collected a total of 900 pounds of trash! This equates to 20 river miles that are now clean and clear thanks to YOU!! We are so proud of our community for coming together and working to protect the watershed we all love.

A huge shoutout to our friends at Republic Services for donating dumpsters and collecting trash for the Lower Gallatin portion of the cleanup.

Thank you to Eagle Mount, Wipfli LLP, the Gallatin Conservation District, Montana Conservation Corps, the Natural Resources Defense Council, American Rivers, Woodard & Curran, the Inland Ocean Coalition Montana Student Chapter and super stewards Kateri Gomez and John Nehring for organizing teams.

Thank you to American Rivers National River Cleanup and the Montana Department of Fish Wildlife & Parks for donating supplies.
