GWC’s Annual Meeting was a great success!
The Gallatin Watershed Council held our annual meeting last Thursday evening at the Lindley Center in Bozeman. GWC celebrated it’s 15 amazing years of stewardship with homemade food, desserts, beer and three presentations from watershed stewards and community members.
Our board chair, Tom Michalek, gave an opening presentation and introduced our speakers. We heard from Torie Haraldson of the Gallatin Local Water Quality District who spoke about Gallatin Stream Teams and their efforts in helping to restore Gallatin Valley’s impaired streams. We also heard from two MSU students, Nick Markson & John Bailey, who spoke about riparian health analysis on impaired streams and their outstanding data collection. Our third speaker was Eric Kutsch of Boy Scout Troop 679, who spoke about his Eagle Scout project on storm drain stenciling.
We ended the night by honoring three Super Watershed Stewards: Eric Kutsch for his fantastic Eagle Scout project, Dan Moheny for his dedication to volunteering and stream monitoring and Todd of the Bozeman Brewing Company for their support of GWC through the sale of Gallatin Pale Ale.
We are so thankful for our watershed family and for the constant support from our community. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in 2020! Thank you to all who came out.
A special thank you to Simms Fishing for providing us with waders for our raffle and to the Bozeman Brewing Company for the Gallatin Pale Ale.
