IAWP Busy Beavers - First Training Down!

GWC and SAS just held the first IAWP Busy Beavers training on July 14th, and we are so excited to watch this new sector of our watershed community unfold! Over 20 members of the IAWP Busy Beavers Volunteer Team gathered at the Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve to meet their new cohort and to learn about ongoing restoration projects within the Lower Gallatin Valley.

Participants rotated amongst 3 different stations led by members of the Gallatin Watershed Council, Sacajawea Audubon Society, and Confluence Consulting. These stations covered watershed and wetland basics via conservation education tools, the specifics of the IAWP restoration project and corresponding monitoring, as well as local wetland habitat including soil and vegetation. Thank you to all of our guest speakers and volunteers who came out to share the evening with us!
